ears ago, before the digital age, I spent a lot of time with my film camera, but when I started writing, I gave it up. In 2015, when I started seriously traveling, I took photos with a little point-and-shoot camera. But some of them were blurry, some were too dark, some too light. I really enjoyed looking at my pictures and posting them on Facebook.
For my second world cruise, I bought a DSLR camera, a Nikon Df, but it was so big and heavy that I was tempted to go back to a pocket version. Two years ago, I bought a mirrorless Fujifilm, and my love of photography, with all its complications, was renewed.
On the world cruises I go on, there is a lot of interest in photography, and we have classes and a splendid teacher who has become my friend.
When I started my murder mysteries, I made one of my three main characters, Sara, an amateur photographer and that has been a lot of fun. I think I’m going to set a whole book around something she shot but wasn’t supposed to.

AN UNFINISHED MURDER - available everywhere TODAY!...
Dear Readers, An Unfinished Murder is about to come out. What I liked about writing the book was getting into the different characters. I nearly went crazy trying to figure out how to tell about their lives. Then I had the idea of putting their names as a header and letting them tell it. It was a lot of fun to do!
For the last few days I’ve been on the phone with my agent, Robert Gottlieb, and the result is that I’m going to write another Medlar book. I hadn’t planned on this since I told all their secrets, but I’d like to know what they’re up to. I have no idea whatsoever what the plot will be or where it will be set. My ship buddies want me to do a mystery set on a cruise ship so I might try that.
Three days ago, I started the third book of my fantasy series. I have lots of new characters so that’s fun. I have 2 women and 2 men and I think I know who will end up with whom, but book people often do whatever they want. Bree was in my last book and she’s in this one. She’s a mystery to the others but not to the readers.
I have to stop or I will tell all.
I now have about 2,000 words to type. I listen to YouTube while I type. People’s lives are as complicated as my books.
Best to all of you, hope you enjoy Unfinished. Jude
